March Is National Social Work Month
Social workers stand up for millions of people each day.
We thank our Methodist Health System social workers for all they do to provide medical social work services and advocacy to patients and families throughout the health system by:
Assessing and identifying patients with limited support systems, level of functioning and financial resources
Maintaining awareness of community services and placement options available to the patient
Facilitating various patient support groups
Assisting the medical team to develop safe and reliable discharge plans, and arranging transportation when needed
Providing psychosocial support services
