As our world becomes more interconnected, highly infectious diseases such as Ebola, Middle Eastern Repiratory Syndrome (MERS), tuberculosis and Zika are in the local and national headlines or just plane ride away. Would you like to play an important role in response and preparedness for our hospital and community — especially for people or events involving possible exposure to highly infectious diseases such as Ebola?

Please consider becoming a member of the Biological Isolation Team. Membership is open to to all MHS employees working in patient care or other departments at Methodist Hospital, Methodist Women's Hospital, Methodist Jennie Edmundson, Methodist Physicians Clinics and MHS Corporate. Currently, the greatest need is for more nurses to join the team.

As a member of the Biological Isolation Team, you will be helping to protect our staff, patients and hospitals from spreading and contaminating our facilities. Through training, you will have the opportunity to learn more specific details about infectious diseases, how to properly don and doff personal protection equipment, the use of isolation equipment and more. This team will meet two to three times a year and drill annually.
