The Methodist Hospital Volunteers-In-Partnership (VIP) was organized in 1949 for the purpose of providing volunteer support to all members of the health care team at Methodist Hospital.

Volunteers at Methodist Hospital have opportunities to learn new skills, make friends and gain the invaluable satisfaction that comes from providing services that are very needed and very appreciated.

Volunteens, our younger volunteers, can use their volunteer time for career exploration. Many will find the experience helpful when applying for future education and employment opportunities.

Services to Methodist Hospital

Every year, the VIP makes a financial pledge to support a specific service of Methodist Hospital. In the past, monies pledged have supported:

  • SANE/SART (Sexual Assault Program)
  • Lung/Thoracic Oncology Clinic
  • Women's Health Center
  • Renaissance Health Clinic
  • The Hospital Chapel
  • Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Clinic
  • Home Health & Hospice
  • Methodist Diabetes Institute 
  • Safe Sleep for Your Baby Program & Sleep Sacks

The VIP pledge for 2008/2009 is $200,000 to help fund the Methodist Women’s Hospital. The VIP meets its pledge through a variety of fund-raising activities, including:

  • The Methodist Hospital Gift Shop
  • Annual Special Event/Fundraising Dinner
  • Book Sale
  • Methodist Women's Hospital Golf Classic
