Methodist Speech Therapy
Speech therapists perform comprehensive evaluation, treatment and follow-up services for a variety of communication problems. Speech Therapy services are offered at several convenient locations. For more information or a referral, please contact one of the locations listed to the right.
Our trained speech professionals work with patients and families to provide education and therapy that will maximize the individual's ability to speak, understand, reason, problem solve and swallow.
Adult Patient Diagnoses
- Augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) system needs
- Chewing or swallowing difficulty (dysphagia)
- Cognitive-linguistic deficits, including impaired reasoning, problem solving and memory
- Language impairment (aphasia)
- Speech impairment (dysarthria)
- Voice disorders (dysphonia), including laryngectomy
Services
Working with each patient's individual needs, we provide:
- Assistance to patients in obtaining AAC devices
- Comprehensive clinical evaluation
- Modified barium swallow for dysphagia
- Patient and family education regarding the diagnosis and recovery prognosis
- Therapy for diagnoses listed
What to Bring on Your First Visit
- Your doctor's prescription for therapy
- List of current medications
- X-rays, MRI or surgery reports of your condition
- Assistive devices currently in use (i.e. cane, crutches, braces, etc.)
- Your insurance information
